Lately I got interested with make-ups, I know I sounded like a late bloomer - It's just that I don't need it when I was younger since I want to enjoy the freshness of my youth and I don't feel like putting anything on my face that might ruin it :p Anyway now...I think I need it, I feel old and ugly! This is the effect of too much work.
So first thing that I think that I needed is a light foundation/powder to cover up imperfections on my face, I want something that I can wear every day. My friend and I went into a lot of beauty booths to try things on our face, at first I was eyeing for MAC but I ended up with Bobbi Brown. .. Why? .. I don't know why.. Maybe the sales assistant is better and more accommodating than Mac's. Beauty specialist from Bobbi brown helped me determine my shade since I have no idea what shade I am or what's my skin undertone, she put some light foundation and a finishing powder and some blush ... and tadah! I look like a real lady :) But I didn't buy those things right away since I want to know how it will look like after hours of walking around. But the beauty specialist was so nice; she gave me a sample of the liquid foundation that she tried of my face, the sample lasted more than a week. After week of testing, it didn't give me any breakouts so I decided to buy the full size bottle. I bought it from Sephora online since I got a lot of freebies when buying it from there and I also accumulate points every time I purchase something from them which can be exchange with goods. A good deal huh? ...but I have to wait until it arrives.
After reading and watching about foundation reviews and techniques on how to apply it, i realize I needed a brush! I bought Eco tools foundation brush since It' cheaper, but I heard a lot of raves about Sigma F80 brush so I ordered one from their site, I also ordered F30 powder brush to save shipping cost, and also I'm planning to buy a finishing powder someday. After reading some beauty blogs, I read that I needed a primer also to make the foundation lasts, so I researched for a good primer, primers are expensive! I bumped into this blog, she recommends Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel, it's not really a primer but it does the job plus it is cheap, so I ordered it online since I'm too shy to buy it from the drugstore.
While learning more about make ups, I'm also buying a lot of things... making myself looks good hurts my pocket. I know I could have settle from drugstore brands but since I don't know my shade I might end up buying the wrong shade which might costs me more.
So what's next? ...I'm still waiting for my brushes and primer. But should I do some FOTD or reviews? ... Nah! I'm not confident to post my Face for FOTD and I think I'm not reliable for reviews since I'm still a newbie. For now I can only give my opinion as I learn more.
